Front suspension popping noise
Hi,
My front suspension on my '97 Jimmy 4wd SLT makes a slight popping noise almost as if it's "sticky". This noise goes away when it's raining and gets wet. I've recently had it in shop a couple times for front end work yet this slight popping noise persists. Any ideas are greatly appreciated. |

When does the popping noise happen? Also How many miles are on your Jimmy? The ball joints can make a klunking noise but you mentioned that you took it to an alignment shop so you have to think that they checked those. But it's pretty easy to check the upper ball joints. All you have to do is jack up each side one at a time under the lower control arm, when the tire comes off the ground approx. 2" grab the top and the bottom of the tire and push the top and pull the bottom then pull the bottom and push the top. If you have any play in the joints You should change them.
Good Luck! |
