Front suspension popping
I have a 97 GT that "pops" (not alot, just enough to annoy) somewhere near the front wheels. I can't seem to locate exactly where but that is the area. I have taken it to a mechanic to see what it is. I had new lower ball joints installed and a new rack and pinion, but it still makes that sound. I was told that the car had once been lowered by a previous owner (the car is stock height now) and the bushings had been changed to accomodate the drop. After it was raised back to stock ride height the bushings were not changed back and I was told this was what is making the noise. The mechanic said it wouldn't hurt anything, just the noise. Has anyone experienced this problem? And if so, what did you do to fix it?
