Just bought a 91 4dr Honda Civic. Not sure what it has in it...D15b2?
Well this is all new to me seeing as I have only worked on american cars.
I bought it for $300 and it has a over heating issue. It has new plugs, clutch, plug wires, head gasket and timing belt. The gentleman I bought it from changed the head gasket because it over heated on him and it is still doing so. There is no miss and no oil or water mixture going on. It runs great for 346k miles on it. I added some water to it and it did not get above half way. the single cooling fan is wired to a toggle switch. Is it suppose to have 2 colling fans or just 1? Also, if you have any ideas about the over heating please let me know? |

I believe it should only have 1 if it does not have a/c. If it does have a/c, then it should have a 2nd that only kicks on when the a/c is on. Why is the fan wired through a toggle switch?
Have you checked the water pump? or for any leaks? Any leak in the system keeps it from holding pressure, the pressure it what keeps the water from boiling. I would check the water pump and pressure test the radiator and cap.
