Rebuild thoughts.....

Hello,

Guys, need a little experience help here. We are currently rebuilding my R32's bottom and top end, and there is one thing I am unsure of - the crankshaft.

Those running high HP - are you running the stock crankshaft or upgraded unit? We are building the top end to rev up to 10,000 RPM's if we want to, as long as the crank can take it. We are adding HKS 87 mm slugs with HKS con rods.

Thoughts please would be helpful.

Hi Shooter Boy,

I have just finished a full rebuild of my RB26.
However I left the standard crank in so i'm no help to you there although someone who has had a similiar rebuild but toughened up the head with stronger springs etc can rev safely to 9000rpm with standard crank.

I note you are going to use HKS con rods I assume they come with suitably stronger con rod bolts as this is a definite requirement.

Cheers

Well, we checked today, and yes, I believe that HKS Japan told me they come with all required hardware. If not, we will get a set of ARP hardened fasteners.

Yeah, we are getting the Stage 2 Heads package from HKS Japan - they actually told us it would rev to 10K, but I don't think I am going to test it out. ALthough its a drag car - I want to try and make stuff last.

Send a message via ICQ to Brenhan
what specs from the stage 2 did you choose ? I got 280 degree , and supposedly 10.8 mm lift but I can only find 10.2 mm lift in the HKS book so it might be them.
Brenhan.

Since it is a purpose built drag car, HKS recommended the 304 on intake, and 294 on exhaust. I am trying to remember, but don't exactly remember the lift - has to be around 11 mm.

We are mating this to a T51 R Single turbo for reference.
