1994 Galant Wont Turn over

I have a 1994 Galant That won't turn over. I drove it home wednesday night turn it off. I try starting Friday and it turns but won't fire. Tried mid day and it tried to fire but nothing. When I got home that night I put 4 gallons of gas in it because I ran the tank low and it barely turned over but did. I drove it around filled it and put dry gas in it. Today SAME THING what can be causing this. It has a gas smell when turning it over. I cleaned the Battery and that is fine. I going to change the cap and rotor next but ould like to stop nickle and dime this problem PLEASE HELP Thanks

Have you actually checked the battery to see if it's good?

another problem could be the crank sensor, common problem on Mitsus to go bad.

i would try that first on cap and rotor. your saying you can smell gas so sounds like fuel pump is working rite. after you do this i would put some sea foam in it and check the timing when you get it started. by the way have you checked for spark going to the pluggs?
