Acura radio won't work
My wife's car stereo won't work. It's a stock radio in a 1998 Acura 1.6 EL. When powered on the display reads Err--3 Does anyone know what this means? The radio does not work at all and has been this way for a long time.
Cheers, Jai

Re: Acura radio won't work
You have to enter a security code whenever you disconnect the radio from the car battery. It should be written in your owner's manual or somewhere in the car. If you can't find it call an Acura dealer they can look up the correct code for your car.

Re: Acura radio won't work
Thank you, that was the problem. It was definitely a 'duh' moment, lol. A quick search reveals its perplexed lots of people.
Once I got into the car and had a look at the owner's manual, i found the code written down by previous owner, and the instructions how to imput the code. Just for the sake of documenting, all I had to do was disconnect negative on battery, reconnect and turn on radio. asks for code immediatly. I wish my wife had thought to open the manual instead of assuming the radio was broken. Cheers all, Jai
