02 Heater Core Replacement
Hi All
I have an 02 TDI Jetta, 130,000 mi and noticed the Windows "fogging" up lately and now, driving from work - I smelled Antifreeze/ Coolant. How involved is it to replace this Year or Take it to my Mechanic and be done ? Thanks Timmy from Connecticut

Heater core leak. Dash removal necessary(brittle dash parts). Labor intensive. Dealer part cost $180. Labor $671 plus a/c evacuate and recharge $140. Total with tax we'll call it $1000. The reason why I would choose the dealer is they do this all day. Any issues later, bring it back to them with no squabble. Hope this helps.

I will have the Dealer do it, I do not have the time and i'm sure there is a special tool or 2 that I don't have and your right, they should stand behind there work. The "fogging up" is not that bad and I will throw the A/C on and it clears right up. Timmy
