Lotus Esprit Turbo

Hello Guys,

This is an old monogram kit, a Lotus Esprit Turbo, I think it's quite rare to be found these days. The color is metallic black from tamiya and the exterior color is broken white, also from tamiya.

Let me know what you think and thanks for looking

Kind Regards

Krishna Iskandana

Re: Lotus Esprit Turbo

Good job. The tire lettering gives it rather a 'boy racer' look, but i love the stance.
One of these has me beaten (so far) so i know the effort that went into your build.

Re: Lotus Esprit Turbo

Nice build. I have one of these in my stash, part built. Got it from a charity shop for £1 but the engine has been glued together.
I have heard they are a pain in the rear to build so it keeps going further back in the 'to do' pile lol.
Well done mate.
Regards, Steve.

stevetriumph - I've heard they were also a pain in the rear to own as well so maybe it's apt.

Re: Lotus Esprit Turbo

You made a great job of what is generally regarded as a difficult kit! Is there any way you could widen the track of the front wheels so that they fill the wheel arches more? This would add a lot to an already impressive build!

Thanks for the comments guys, actually the actual stance was quite high, so after some modifications, this is the closest from the front wheels to the wheel arches.

Re: Lotus Esprit Turbo

You built a nice model of an iconic car. But it's not Turbo, it's Sport 300. I have both of them, but unassembled yet. But now I working on the first Esprit S1 and combine it with the chassis of Sport 300.

Re: Lotus Esprit Turbo

Looks great!! I like the stance etc. It looks like the car is ready for some trck time with those tires. Are they the kit tires?

Re: Lotus Esprit Turbo

I think some of the engine pieces that are red could be toned down a little or washed. They seem too bright and thats what takes away from the build. Although everything else looks great and wheels look sweet.
