Question Rims and Winter

I have a friend who says that if you keep your rims on in the winter time you will wreack you rims, I could see that on a steel rim, that might rust but how would it wreack a aluminum rim?

its a good idea putting your old rims on for the winter. We all probably know that.....just a reminder.

well I know that salt will ruin steel whells but mine are aluminum, what will salt do to that?

My friend had the piece of crap 18"s on a Hyudai, and he used to take them off every winter.

LOL. Yes it was rather crappy. He got in a pretty nasty wreck and I think he got a Civic or something. That Hyundai was hideous...

All The painted wheels In the UK Are Fine all year round and Alot of the US painted rims are the same as ours,

How about Chrome rims ? I want to know how they get on in winter ?
