rims and winter tires for 300C

Hi all! My dad bought his 300C in April this year and just love it!! But where we live, we have the -40 C outside with salt on the streets and everything and he and I don't want to damaged the 18" mags on the car..

The dealer tols us that its 2500$ + tax for 4 rims and winter tires... is there anything you could suggest us please?

If we can fin 17" rims plus winter tires for lets say 1500$ or so, it could be nice..
