b20 motor build up
what's the best settup to mate with a B20 bottom end to gain the most hp/trq levels? i had a friend who had a Ls motor with a b16 tranny and he said he was running high 13's in is 90 hatchback. does that sound reasonable for a non=vtec settup with all stock internals? i thought about running that settup in a 90' civc 4door.

stock LS plus the b16a trans will not net 13 second quarter mile times. He must of had some other work done to get into the 13's. Was he spraying nitrous?? Cams and headwork maybe??? Because a stock LS and b16 trans should be somewhere in the mid to high 14's if not low 15's.
As for you question I would do a complete rebuild and mate a VTEC head to the b20 block. This will net a very nice gain in hp and torque. Just make sure you build the motor well because b20/VTEC motors sometimes have reliability problems.
