help please !! motor build question!!

Ok so its time !! I have been wanting to do something to my 1997 mirage 2dr coupe 1.8 but i do not know alot about motors and this will be my first build. My timing belt broke so i need to have some head work done so my question is can the 1.8 mirage motor be built to be nasty or should i do a swap ? what will fit in the 1997 mirage ??? im looking to go turbo so someone pls let me know something !!!

I've highlighted a few problems that should be strongly considered before you proceed. You might just fix it back to stock, sell it and get something that is far far cheaper to build and something that is very well documented as far as parts and whatnot so it will be 100x easier to build your first car.

First of all the 1.8 motor didn't come out in the mirage, the mirage only had the 1.5 12 valve motor, the ce lancer coupe and 4 door come out with the 1.8 16 valve motor. As far as turbo charging, the 1.8 has good potential.
