KN Filter ... worth it or not???

I emailed this dude at KN and he said that supposedly the KN Filter will give my car an extra four horsepower. Now is that true?
And if it isn't...what is the best kind?
How much horsepower will it give me?
How much will it cost me?

Hmm I dunno about a drop-in giving you 4hp...i would say maybe just a tad bit more but not that much...it might help your fuel economy though cuz of the leaner mixture...

Uhmm I would suggest looking at

JWT www.jimwolftechnology.com

or

Stillen www.stillen.com

I believe JWT Makes the POP for the P11 models, im not sure though I have a P10. I would say this would give you the 4hp you are looking for. You will be able to move all of the restrictive airflow from the beginning of the airbox to the MAF.

Not to mention the great sound!! The sound, excuse me: The music the engine produce with a cone filter is wonderfull. Makes you wanna throw away your cd-player, and just listen to the beautifull music your SR20DE makes! HEAVEN!

i use a K&N dropin air filter on my P11.... performance wise? can't tell a difference, but it feels good to have an airfilter that is 'aftermarket'....?????? just a vanity thing for me, I guess.

It works for p10s? do you happen to know how much the place racing CAI will cost..and if, like the hotshot, you need to get a smaller battery?

I know guys out there have either Hotshot or PR CAIs on their G20's....search the SE-R mailing list and you should be able to find tons of stuff on it...Just make sure that you're talking high port (91-93.5) or low-port (93.5+) to them when you order....also just make sure that if you have a 93.5 (im not sure about this) but I think i have heard of a 93.5 coming as a low port??? soo if thats you...be careful

they told me when i called them that the only thing you have to cut is a larger hole for the pipings but not the battery tray or get a smaller battery

You'll hafta make sure you look around about the P11...I know that you need to cut a small whole in sheet metal for the P10, im guessing its the same for the P11. Just be careful though about your intake...NEVER go through any large puddles...if you suck up any water, and hydro-lock the engine, its a brand new one baby...

simple bypass valve that allows air in through this small foam filter when the main filter is submerged.

Wink

The cold air intake offered by Place Racing Stillen & Hotshots are above the $200.00 dollar mark.

The JWT pop charge is available direct fromm them for 120.00 +9.00 for shipping.

The Stillen Intake is a little more pricy for Vaine people at around $170.00 wich is a copy of the JWT. (my wife want's this one).

Also when ordering an intake make sure you repeatedly tell them the year & model of your vehicle cause they for some reason like to send you the wrong one first.
