In Progress: Tamiya Raybrig NSX

This is my most recent in progress project. Actually, it's pretty close to being completed.

The Tamiya Raybrig NSX, painted with Tamiya's Blue Violet Spray (it used to be called Raybrig Blue) and the color in these pics are nothing like it looks in person. The body was just polished tonight and mocked up on the chassis for a few pictures. Nothing to special, just built out of the box. I'm sure the decals will be a bit of a challenge.

Very nice. You're reputation will remain intact!

I tried the Castrol car and it beat me down...

One question. How do you get such nice crisp edges on the really tiny pieces with multiple colors. (ie. the red nut on the wheel looks good with the silver around it.) Do you mask/spray something like that? Or just really talented with the brush? Whenever I try that, the paint tends to run into the crease and doesn't look as good.

Beautiful work so far.
Loved the interior, paint and wheels, detailing is amazing on every part. Maybe the engine needs a little bit more detailing don't you think?

I'll be watching this with interest.

Re: In Progress: Tamiya Raybrig NSX

Thanks everybody...

I had considered doing more detail in the engine area but then again, most of the engine is underneath what you can see in the picture and once you get the air intake box on top of the engine not much is visible. I do intend to paint/detail the firewall a little more befor I call it done.

Nice work Eric! I loved seeing it at the meeting. Yeah, how do you paint the lug nut?

Thanks Murray, the little parts most of the time are just brush painted. Which is the case with the center nut on the wheel. You just have to find that right amount of paint to cover but not run into the corners. If it does, don't sweat it just came back again with the silver and touch things up.

You have to go back to the castrol car.... you can't let the plastic beat you...
