Bad Turn signal now Gauges don't work
Hey, One of the bulbs out of the two in my head lamp went out the other day. So i replaced the bad one and turned my truck back on. Now my gauges don't light up (speedo, gas, air conditing controls) or my dim lights at the corners of the car. So other than the head lights and interior liights, nothing turns on. But the turn signals work and they light up on the dash, but they won't dim. I have no idea what has happened. If any1 can help please replay.

oh yeah, i checked the fuses, but there's these two big metal ones off to the side that say A and B on them, the manual says they're for power acc, the guy at the dealership said they weren't them, that the only fuse that would go out is a IPC fuse, and i don't have that. I checked all my fuses though. Does any1 know if the light behind the dash is just one big light? that could've gone out. or are there multiple lights back there?

lol, yeah i forget to do that a lot. I have a 1995 chevy silverado k1500 with a 350. It's an extended cab silverado package. Might as well disregard my dash lights question b/c the air conditioner ones don't light up either, so that wouldn't matter. would a chilton's or hayne manual have the wiring diagram in it? or do i have to shell out the $$$ for a repair manual?

Re: Bad Turn signal now Gauges don't work
My guess is you have lost the parking lite circut-double check your fuses-the Autozone website has service manuels online for free, but spending 15$ on a book is a good investment. They don't tell you all the info.,but will cover basic repairs including some wiring .

How do i find out if the problem is my parking light circuit? I seriously don't want to take this to a stealership. especially over something that should've costs two bucks.

Re: Bad Turn signal now Gauges don't work
According to your post you have nothing but headlites and turn signals-1st post said bad turn signal and then says headlite bulb.I am assumeing you replaced a bulb in your front turn signal/parking lite ass. The parking lite circut works these front bulbs, side marker lites and taillites. If you have the owners manual for the truck that should show you where the fuses are By my book it should be fuse #9 in the fusebox under the dash (located left of the steering column)

Bronco2, Yeah i feel pretty stupid right now. It was fuse 9, but now i know :P Thanks so much for helping me. I probably would've been dumb enough to start ripping apart the dash.

Re: Bad Turn signal now Gauges don't work
My suggestion is to locate the circuit with the easiest access and troubleshoot that circuit. This sounds like a bad ground. I suspect also that the possibility exists that the incorrect bulb was installed of it was somehow installed incorrectly. I might also try removing the bulb and see if this corrects the other problems you are having. I have a tough time believing that the correct bulb or installation could result in all of these subsequent problems. Try starting from the beginning and tracing your steps, backtracking as necessary. Ray
