Question Mist Shots

In the movie "2 Fast 2 Furious", Paul Walker's Skyline Shoots Mist (maybee c02) out the side of his car in the very beginning.

What is that? What type of applications is that? Where do you find something like that?

Its supposed to be n20 purge. I have seen other skylines in super street with similiar setups. You could rig it to any car and its just for show. When I sprayed, I had my purge between the headlight and corner lense, which was always funny when someone walked in front of the car.

So, it's just spraying nitrous in the air, right?

How much is something like that?

It is stupid to waste money on something like that, but if you really want to do it then get a C02 bottle and some braided line and a solenoid and fill the bottle with C02 instead of N20.

yep, despite the movies, not flammable. The worst that could happen is a bottle exploding from excessive heat.

Nitrous bottles have a burst cap, which vents the nitrous to the air once the bottle pressure hits a certain amount, usually 3000 psi. The temp to even get it that high would be somewhere around 280 degrees, but to have a nitrous bottle rupture you'd need to get one without a blow off disc or one with a defective blow off disc, and basically throw it in an oven at 450 degrees for quite a while.

The reason you would purge your nitrous, is to make sure there is no air in the nitrous line.

purging is not only to remove air from the lines.....its also used to lower bottle pressure to gain max usage of the nitrous.....you need liq nitrous not gas! usually you want the bottle press down to 900 or so psi to work properly.....ever spray on a cold bottle...nothing great as botte press isnt high enough to push lots of liq n2o out...ever spray on high bottle press?.....sux too as you end up spraying gas in instead of liquid. even though nitrous is non flamable it can still feed a fire one it breaks down into oxygen....
