Question H22a engine swap into 88-91 Crx

my brother has a 89 crx hf, hes about to do an engine swap but wants something with larger displacement, i said h22a, he said will it fit.. so bottom line is, i heard it can be done, a tight fit but it can be done, also need to have major suspension work b/c of weight ratio, anymore info/facts will be greatly appreciated

try the crx/4th gen civic forum on honda-tech.com.......a couple of dudes got that set-up but for draging only....from what ive heard it will not be a good everyday driver with that swap....might be wrong, also you will might have to custom fab. some stuff to make it fit good

Cutting away your unibody to make it fit, and driving it daily is a huge no no. Even the slightest accident and you can kiss your ass goodbye!

If you want large displacement, go with a CRV motor (B20b) - you can go turbo, or throw a VTEC head on it, or both... or stroke it and go all motor, and stay ALOT safer, and ALOT lighter then the H22
