I've been looking into buying a 5.0 explorer and have done my research. From my understanding these are very common issues. I would be less worried about coming out of my pocket book for the warranty deductible costs and more worried about hastling the hell out of Ford Motor Company to cover their part of the warranty. Remember if they try avoiding the costs of warranty or tell you "they can not duplicate syntoms" then stick your foot in their ass and SHOW them exactly what it's doing. If their Master Tech is busy, grab the owner or highest manager, grab him by his feet, drag him to your car and "duplicate the problem" to him physically. If that fails blow up the dealership and go to mexico and blow up all the plants that they recently moved down there.
