She's running better now then she ever has. From the very first day that I got her, she's had knock and for the 1st time it's gone. Might post pone the tune a little bit, especially since the plan was to get it tuned to get rid of knock...obviously a tune wouldn't have fixed it. Also, I don't have to cash to get the tune now that I had to buy another fp and I also bought the MBC. Tune will happen, just not right now.

Don't think I ever posted a pic with the 2g MAF in. Had to used a short filter because of where it all had to go. Works great though!

Dave is right!
They sent me the wrong pump. I went through TREperformance on ebay (my mistake). They sent me a TRE one but the auction is for a genuine Walbro. They do sell both so they're going to send me the correct one today. Kicking myself for going through ebay.

That's who I usually buy through but I was trying to avoid the $7.50 shipping charge. With where I'm at now, I would have rather paid it so I could have her back together now.

I hear ya. I dont mind paying a few dollars extra for excellent customer service. Thats why I buy from extreme. They are cheap, but if they are ever not as cheap as another vendor....I still by from them because they always treat me right.

Yea I agree extremepsi is awesome. Super fast shipping also. Just sucks when you buy some for 10$ and shipping is still 7.50

I hear ya. I changed my mind on the flat black and went with a gloss black. The 1st coat is drying now. Once I get a couple coats in, I'll post another pic. I want to polish the letters but can't figure out a good way to do it.
SilvrEclipse
04-25-2010, 11:23 PM
I have tried many differenent ways to polish the letters and the best way I found was to polish the letters first then put grease on the letters so the paint doesn't stick and you can then just peel it off easily

Here's how it sits right now. It's not perfect but it's my 1st attempt with this. I do have one problem though. The pcv valve hole is stripped. What should I do in this situation?

04-26-2010, 01:57 PM
Can you paint JB weld?
SilvrEclipse
04-26-2010, 02:21 PM
Yea you can, but I would just put some on the inside of the hole where the threads were
ned032002
04-26-2010, 02:48 PM
I'm thinking about just coating the threads really thick and just twisting it into the spot.
david-b
04-27-2010, 10:41 AM
I did the same on mine. The 420a isn't threaded but just pops in. Still the same basic idea and works fine.

I had a hell of a glare in my door window so I couldn't see the screen to see where it was aimed, I just winged it. Video was done with a CANON A560 Digital camera w/ video record option.

04-27-2010, 04:11 PM
Thanks. You can see at one point it was facing the molding. I could just barely see that with the glare so I just adjusted a little further. I might be able to get some good videos tomorrow but I don't know yet. Take note the coolant light. I've had that since I relocated the coolant reservoir, not sure why I'm getting the light though. It does go out eventually.

It's a pretty basic setup. It was really cheap off ebay, I wanna say it cost me under $5 from Hong Kong. Took a couple weeks to get here but at the time I was in no rush.

Ah it mounts to the window. They pretty damn cheap for a camera mount. I was thinking of building one that clamped to the headrest and maybe using some rubber to adsorb some of the vibrations
ned032002
04-28-2010, 12:26 AM
That doesn't sound like a bad idea. My original plan was to hang the camera from the sunroof by the suction cup but with this mount, the video will be upside down. With this movie maker I'm messing with, it looks like I can rotate the video so I might just try that tomorrow.
david-b
04-28-2010, 09:17 AM
All video editors allow you to flip the videos.
What had done a couple times was attach my small tri-pod to the camera and then stick it between the seat and the headrest. Actually worked really good until you hit a big bump. Then it would fall or swivel. I do like this one though. May pick on up.

Here's a video w/ the camera mounted to the sunroof. I used Virtual dub to flip the video but I kept having issues w/ the video saving to a much larger size. From 98mb to 1.1gb. I figured out how to compress it, was able to save to about 125mb w/ the video flipped. So here it is

Everytime I mess with it, I feel like I'm messing stuff up more. For example when I used the 2g timing map as suggested on link forums because it's not as aggressive. I got more knock then I ever thought possible. And that was just a couple clicks. If I post up the fuel table on here, will you tell me where I need to adjust and what not?
