EVO magazine issue #145 refers to the paint on this car in the 'Harold's Workshop' article:

"It's a piano black with a tint in the lacquer, but there is also a gold flake in the base coat."

I was not sharp. I means road cars and black from the build, so you can rule out 006 and 020 which is Dorchester Grey.

#020 started life 'Mid Blue Pearl' btw. Chassis #002 was the 'Dorchester Grey' one.

Should be there by now - you'll probably find that the interior is no longer blue. That wasn't original anyway - added sometime during its stay in Hong Kong.

Not sure - trying to find out where the picture came from. A photographer friend of mine sent it to me and only said that it came up on his FB feed, not who took it or anything else. If its an older picture it is probably #064. If recent then that car is supposed to be elsewhere now.

EDIT: Yeah - it is S-P-S, you can see their logo on the lift just over the roof of the grey 911 Turbo in the shot of the F1. Here's a pair of the Orange Cinque for location comparison:

Beautiful photo, but ... would I be branded a heretic if I said they should have detailed the front upper wheel well before taking this picture? :uhoh:

I think it's good fotographer who made it and used several flashers for the wheel(arches), interior and side, all with a nice result.
And also with a nice feel for detail; watch the steering wheel for instance, it's in straight ahead position, while the wheel isn't.
With a lock to lock in 2.8 turns the steeringwheel in straight well choosen.

Fantastic photo!! Shame it needs the ugly number plate sticker...

With my detective hat on I think that photo will probably be at the Toy Shop in Mt Cook when it was getting a Warrant of Fitness done. But an old photo judging by the number plate on the Aston Vanquish "SCP". That's now on a VT Diablo that's been in at Powerhaus for a few months getting major work done.

Any idea where it was taken, or if more are likely to show up?

Well, the SCP number plate was moved onto the Diablo on 15th Feb 2012 so doesn't rule out the date of December 2011. I can't be sure that it was on the Vanquish until then though.

Speculating now however, a certain high profile local property developer went bankrupt fairly recently, and he had two diablos. (one was silver, not sure of the other. SCP is on a black one now, but could have been repainted) The date of Feb 2012 would fit in nicely if it was one of his, and giving a good reason for the plate to change.

Also, it did get a WoF on 13th December 2011, again given it needs one every 6 months that is another positive sign December 2011 is possible.

Is the other picture the one where it's at a roundabout?
And is that plate MCL F1 vs the MCLF1 (without space) on 018?
Was there ever any thought that each brother has their own (meaning three F1s currently in NZ?)

Yes on question one.

The plate on #049 is actually "MCL FI" with the capital letter i in place of the number 1. Kind of odd, but that's the difference between it and the plate on #018.

I don't think so on question 3. We are pretty much out of cars unless he is the one hiding #004. The rest have all turned up elsewhere in the world at some point in time.

You can't really tell by looking at the plate - its just a straight line exactly like on the nose of the car.

100% sure #021 is the Red car in Singapore.

#063's current location is in question - it was in Hong Kong but may have been sold again.

#068 is covered in the North American fleet thread still.

The last for sure, positive sighting was in the S-P-S Automotive showroom in about 2008. The difficulty was that at the time they also had #064 as well and really the only distinguishing features to separate the two were the red 'F1 V12' marking on the steering wheel of #064 and the four registration plate mounting holes in the nose of #063.

There is a small set of photos of a silver F1 taken in Hong Kong more recent than that, and it is possible to tell that it is not #064, but not possible to confirm it as #063, however that's what I believed it to be when I saw them. I'll dig up the link and share it later.
