Ebay is a little bit of a pain to seel cars though, if you do make them pay him a NONrefunable deposit within like 3 days. Seen people buy the car and then back out when they go to pay and get the car

I do have a question in regards to headlights. At one point someone had told me that you can get neons for around the bulb. Almost like a halo effect. Anyone know what the name of them are called?? I want to see if I can find some hot pink ones.

thanks
cheryl

I searched for headlight assy but no one has any for an 06

my99cavy
08-03-2006, 06:43 PM
wouldnt pink neons in your headlights be illegal?? why dont you just go with something like this http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/00-04-FORD-FOCUS-TWIN-HALO-PROJECTOR-HEADLIGHTS-02-03_W0QQitemZ140014462675QQihZ004QQcategoryZ33710QQ rdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

I havent seen ones with pink angel eyes, you would have to have them custom made then. or there is these that are blue maybe that company could custom make pink ones for you I really dont know http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/00-04-FORD-FOCUS-ZX5-ZX3-BLACK-HALO-PROJECTOR-HEADLIGHT_W0QQitemZ160013601316QQihZ006QQcategoryZ 33710QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

you were talking about an intake correct?? here is one i found for an '06 focus http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/K-N-Typhoon-Cold-Air-Intake-2006-FORD-Focus_W0QQitemZ290012732928QQihZ019QQcategoryZ3863 4QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

EDIT:also what engine does you car have in it??

cheryl923
08-03-2006, 06:55 PM
I already checked out those headlights. They wont fit the 06 and the sellers dont have them for the 06. So I guess for now I am a little out of luck.

Thanks for the intake..... I put it on my watch list. I will have to see this weekend if I would have room for it. I still havent opened the hood to take some pics. Once I do you guys can help decide if there is anything in there worth painting.

cheryl923
08-03-2006, 07:34 PM
Yeah its the same. Thanks. Duratec is the name that ford gave their engines. Similiar to chrysler having the hemi engine. I will research some this weekend and see what I can find out. Iwill also take some pics on sat and post. I need to somehow get pink underthe hood. As a show car I got to have something pink. thanks again

I never said the engine was pretty. . I agree the only thing i can see to paint is the fuse box and battery box. Not sure on the intake. There is no organizing the wires. They are pretty tight in there. I am not sure about doing the engine itself. Dont think I have room to get in there. :banghead: ughh I dont know what to do.... what you guys think?

mista give me your email address again and I will resend. I also posted on here as well.

Find yourself a cheap polished strut bar or just a cheap one and paint it pink, get some pink wire loom, paint the intake box, fuse box, and engine cover, and hand paint or really carefully spray paint the header and you'll be good to go. There's pink loom here on ebay, just scroll down a bit. (http://search.ebay.com/search/search.dll?sofocus=bs&sbrftog=1&catref=C6&mppfqy=pink+wire+loom&from=R10&satitle=pink+wire+loom&sacat=-1%26catref%3DC6&sargn=-1%26saslc%3D2&sadis=200&fpos=ZIP%2FPostal&ftrt=1&ftrv=1&saprclo=&saprchi=&fsop=1&fsoo=1)

Thanks. Not sure what I would do with a strut bar though. Or are you thinkin of just for the look? I didnt have many wires so I was not sure about the wire looms. I saw the ones on ebay and had thought about it. I guess I will have to rethink some ideas. I want to make sure it looks good.

You show your car or any of your cars? Does anyone else show their car? Just curious as that is what I would like to do and want to know if I am headed in the right direction.

Well take care guys. Talk to you soon
cheryl:)

Strut bars are for performance but you don't have to be a racer to feel the difference of having a strut bar. If you get a front and rear strut bar your handling around corners and just turning in general feels so much better. Ya know how when you take a corner going kinda fast and the hole car kinda tilts and it makes you tilt with it, if you have strut bars it lessens that alot, especially if your car is lowered. But yeah, if you just get a cheap front one and paint it, it can still look good and make people think it's there for performance reasons. I would do like I said in my last post, it would all be cheap and easy and it would be enough to make it look good while keeping it stock. You can see the engine on my 2.2 cavalier on my Cardomain Here (http://www.cardomain.com/ride/840923/2), granted you have alot less space then I did but you can just see how a few wire looms can really set the engine off

..You could also paint your brake calipers and drums, if you dont have 4wheel disk, hot pink as well, when you put your rims on.

cheryl923
08-08-2006, 04:50 PM
Oh Okay. Thanks. I like your engine pics. I know I could paint the fuse box, and battery box with no problems. Wire looms are easy as well. Painting the intake or top of the engine but be a tad out of my sill level but I think I will try it. I did good with the other painting. I just dont want to take alot off of fear that I wont get it back together. ... if you know what I mean. I think I will start with the easy stuff and see how it looks. Then work from there. Do I do the painting of the boxes the same way I did the dye? Or do I have to do the sanding priming stuff as well? I am gathering that I will need to sand prime sand then paint but I am not sure. How did you do your painting? I like the wire looms so I think I will do that even though I dont have many wires. Thanks for the ideas. Its got me thinking now. :)

I think I will spend the evening relooking at the engine bay and see what I am gonna do.

thanks again
cheryl

Lances133
08-08-2006, 05:20 PM
Well I painted all the blue engine when I was installing the Pacesetter header, and I had lots of room so I just stood there and spray painted it with engine spray paint. When I suggested you should paint the header and top of the engine, I said use a brush and hand paint it so you wouldnt have to take anything out and just be careful and take your time. As far as sanding and priming the fuse box and what not, you'll get the best results if you do so, but it's up to you depending on how many people will see your engine bay or not. Also since they are big flat pieces you could make designs on them or write stuff, i dunno be creative ;)

cheryl923
08-08-2006, 05:28 PM
Yes I will have to be creative. Not sure on the hand painting tho  . Like I said I think I will start with the easy stuff and work my way to the engine part afterward. I think I will sand and prime otherwise the black may show thru. If I am going to do it I might as well do it right and well.

thanks again

:) well I got a couple of things painted. I painted the hood prop and a plastic piece that cover the radiator support bar. Tomorrow I hope to do the battery holder and the fuse box.

I was also thinking of painting the strut mounts. That would help level off the hot pink. Plus if I get the wire looms that will help as well.
