Little update: I glued some detail on the spare engine: I like to do it with something unmount (spark plugs, gear's oil reservoir less) at least is harder do less (you have to cut and redo) than add detail LOL

I have some other detail to add but I need a primer check before, than I'll finish details and start painting.

(redone)

http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c159/gionc/CIMG4541.jpg

Cut out spark plugs, redone surround, seem cool and unusual to me ;)

http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c159/gionc/CIMG4542.jpg

Diff cover, still need bolts but after painted

http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c159/gionc/CIMG4543.jpg

http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c159/gionc/CIMG4546.jpg

I have some other details in this area but I need a perfect background before ;) so... go with primer!

Guys: you're profuse indeed!

Shocks, turned I guess more than one year ago... they waited me for tip milling (done by hand with file) I also tuned a shock's backing, guess I'll use the plastic modified one! Spring done by myself, seem ok to me ;) :D

Updates folks:

First, I done by own the hardware needed to fix shocks, 0.5 mm brass tube and 1mm copper pipe for hex bolts, at least they're 0.8-9mmm diam.

http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c159/gionc/bulloni.jpg

Brakes updates: I wanted to mount calipers in the disc mount, insthed glue it directly (so if you're a kind of toy's lover you'll rotate weel and disc, with the caliper proper mounted ;), at least I'll glue all steady with a couple of unmounted rims ;) )

Test done with cloned calipers, than I milled down enzo's calipers since I found very easy to work directly on disc:

http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c159/gionc/calimount1.jpg

http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c159/gionc/mill2.jpg

http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c159/gionc/mill1.jpg

This is the joint I had to turn to use my carboceramic PE parts:

http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c159/gionc/raccordofreni.jpg

This is the new sushi recipe I created yesterday ;)

http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c159/gionc/sushi.jpg

Following the last gift I made myself ;) paaaadddssssss :D :D :D (oki you'll said I'm asshole and you wouldn't see those but... yep they're funny LOL)

http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c159/gionc/gift4me.jpg

And finally, gentlemen, the result (unbuilt)

http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c159/gionc/result1.jpg

http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c159/gionc/calidef.jpg

calipers primed (lecher acri) and painted with the awesome Zero Rosso Scuderia base, than cleared with the new Zero Clear (not 2k), polished just a bit, I like a bit of casted appeal. Decals Tamiya.

Terrific work as always, my friend. Quite spectacular. I'm very much looking forward to seeing it all come together!

Speaking of invisible parts, is that a set of piston rings there above the pads? :evillol:

Thanks guys :)

Andy: is not so thiny, 1mm diam, it is the 3rd I owned, sinced first lived 2 sec. and second one 3 sec. LOL. Now I'm cheap and careful and I have it from long time... safe :D
I'm not used to mill plastic (well also alloy at least LOL) but I found no bad, only my minimum speed is just 5000 rpm so I had to be careful to avoid melting.

And for those parts with a milky translucent acrilic white they're my 1/24 condoms :D LOL so not invisible, just covered up ROFL

Really: I plan to show the car with two rims unmounted so this part and the bolts behind are actually more visible than calipers :chair::chair::chair:

Alex: those is a sweety clearcoat... LOL

Oki time to pull crap on the magic: just I can't use: disc interfere with caliper's lock (and hub) and fall back for 1-1.5mm: or I think something quick (and safe, no much more locks) or at least nobody would notice that I unused LOL

I had exactly the same problem fitting my calipers on my 360 rotors!

It took scraping out the inside surfaces of each caliper with a needle file to get them to sit right. It was tedious, but I got them to fit- yours will fit too, and look terrific.

Actually, I like the rims a lot - they look fast, mean and race functional. (also the big holes let your calipers be very visible :evillol:

They will lokk even better with the rear skirt in place IMO

What color will they be? Hopefully not white?! ;)

Enzoenvy1
06-09-2007, 02:30 PM
If you keep those rims, defintiely go white to match the stripes. But, i would also not keep those wheels, sorry. They do look good, but not Ferrari-like enough. I have not seen the SAS wheels yet, but when I get mine in the next few days I will decide. I am betting they are a great fit, and do belong on any CS. But, it is your build and a great one it is indeed!!

I think they suit the car well. The F355 Challenge cars ran sorta-similar 5 spokes and nobody cried then

godfather23
06-10-2007, 04:39 AM
Regarding all the work you put into the brakes, your wheels of choice guarantee a great view on them while the BBS-wheels kind of hide the brakes more. This is a somewhat practical arguement since taste and style is always a matter of personal preference. I´d say, follow your instincts. If these rims won´t work in the end you can easily switch back to the BBS´s.

The mild engine (those hidden in the baby's belly ;) )

Done spark plugs wiring, and also fuel rails (despite you'll see not a lot with airbox and upper frame installed, it would be a good training for the spare engine, those showed alone, not easy origami, I guess I'll send a warning letter to the PE manufacturer LOL), added also bolts (calibre 35) to the differential p-etched cover (done in 1 only piece: I fuc##d one and I'll use the complete set fr the spare engine) and to the gear cover; let me start with lambda sond and termostat connector: 3 each side/exaust, not yet glued/painted, you'll see few hours following finished:
