Sounds like your building a pretty cool little go cart! What kind of powerplant are you going to use? I could cut a LOT of weight off of the Z if I wanted to but this is going to be a street car. It has a full interior, roll cage, sound insulation, etc... I really wanted something that would be a sleeper.
So would this car be considered a ricer or a domestic? How about "home grown rice"! :smoka:

i dunno what kind of motor im gonna use, the problem is finding one that will fit in an engine bay meant for a 36 cubic inch 2-cylinder. right now ive got my eyes on an 88 mazda 626 turbo motor i can get really cheaply.
i dont know how comfortable mines gonna be (probably not very), but ill be driving it on the street.

What kind of frame is it? What engine was it meant for? This may not be your cup of tea but you could go with a large bike engine. Im not sure if your familiar with Ledgends cars or not but they probably weigh about 1000K and run a Yamaha engine. I have driven one that was on loan to my school and they really fly. Now mind you this is not a street car. I have no Idea how they are geared! Another option might be an old VW engine. They are dirt cheap and can really put out the power!

its a 72 honda 600n, with a 600cc two cylinder that puts out 31hp. i have definately considered using a bike motor, but i might get this mazda motor cheap. hell the motor in my 4 wheeler puts out twice the hp i could use that :p

No 4 cylinder stock can beat a stock v8? what about my sti? smokes a t/a, mustang, or a camaro ss. 4.6seconds 0-60, let's see that from a FR setup. Oh and an 00 s2000, look at motor trend, stock hits 0-60 in 5.2 & i've beaten a lot of t/a's & ss's. Either my sti or my s2k will smoke v8s esp off the line, & i would still win in the top. I've beaten a lightning before too w/ my s2k. And that's an automatic so no it wasn't the driver. Also respectable is an rx-8 which is a 1.3L & runs about a 14.0
