Im sorry but the Mercedes ML has worst than average quality interior, just in case you were refering to SUV, their cars are great though.

The Corvette is the ultimate sports car for it's price. 0 - 60 in 3.9 as compared to 4.8. And I'm not too sure about it's 1/4 time, but I know in my issue of Car And Driver, a stock 2002 Corvette Z06 beat out a stock 2002 Porsche 911 Turbo by around .7 seconds around the track. The Porsche costs 117, while the Z06 is around 50. Point proven. The Corvette is definately the ultimate sports for it's price.

i read and hear a lot of crap about how "the mustang is more comfortable" and what not...high performance cars are made to go fast..not to be comfortable..i have 2 camaro's and they are comfortable to me...to me if you have time to think about being uncomfortable while driving..your car isnt keeping your mind on the power and fun...id rather go fast that be comfortable!......and ohh..its a proven fact that a stock cobra doesnt compare to a stock ss...i read an article where they had to put a z28 against a svt cobra cause the ss kicked its ass so bad..and i also picked up a ford magazine that was all about mustang power and i saw a article with a pic of a 2001 ss so i read it and it said...."sorry boys...this is the only angle you will see if you challenge an ss"..the picture was taken from about 10-15 feet behind the car..end of discussion!

I used to be a Mustang fan until I got my 96 Z-28

and now I wont even consider a Mustang. I think my

has more leg and headroom too. And its much better

looking too.

whats this I read about someone saying "yeah thats why the gm f-body's ogt outsold by the mustang".....and it wasnt 4x it was for every 2 mustangs sold...there was either 1 camaro or 1 firebird sold!.....and the reason for that is because wussies wont go the extra mile and spend about 4 - 5 grand more for the real performance ...the way i see it ..its just that a lot of people who dont know JACK are trying to buy sports cars........i read a forum the other day and it said "i wouldnt recomend the z28 to entry level drivers, there is no way 90% of the people can run this car to its full potential"..they did however recommend the mustang gt for beginner drivers..they said "it has power, just not near as much as the z28"...oh yeah they said it was COMFORTABLE too!!!!!!!!....ppffffffff...hahahaha..the only thing i have ever liked about the mustang....is the tail pipes and the sound that they give with a few exhaust mods....great sound...gay car!.......

yes, we know already the Camaro is faster and performs better than a Mustang but I donīt argue with you that is better looking, the Mustang is definetively the better looking one, anywise whatīs important at the end is which people buy and you only have to look at the sales...:bandit:
PS: It is said that the Mustang has more interior room, and because of the design I believe so

Have you tried to sit in the back in the new ones?

An adult person cannot sit there without touching the

roof., the Camaro doesnt have much but I can sit back there

and have lots of headroom, and I do think in the front too it has

more room, its wider and has alot of legroom and headroom too.

What people buy isnt important either, if you look on the poll the

Camaro is ahead of the Mustang. The Camaro has a nice low sleek

look and is the closest car you can get to a Corvette. In my

opionion the Camaro is the better looking one. If people buy

the Mustang more than the Camaro, Id probably say why is

cause the Mustang is less money? Cannot really figure out why

anyone would buy a Mustang over a Camaro.

I know why people isnt buying Camaros cause they

ok, i like the cougars styling (yeah shoot me), but it sucks as a performance car. Mustangs......a fake hoodscoop is like plastic hooters.......no good, and you see em so much it makes it so id rather see a camaro around sometimes

as for the trans am motor question, yup (i believe so, im not yet an owner so i cant say for sure), but the styling is soooooo much better

All Firebird Formulas and Trans Am's have the same motor as a Camaro Z28/Z28 SS. It is a 5.7L (350cid) V8, a pushrod, with 2 valves/cylinder. No techno-trickery, just cubic inches. It make 310hp currently, with 325 in SS (camaro) or WS6 (Firebird) models. It makes about 350lb-ft. It goes to 5500-6000rpm. It is simple, flexible, and marvelous. One of the best engines out there. It can be bored and stroked to 427.6cubic inches (7 liters)

SOOOO, how much is it to get it bored and stroked to be a 427....:)?

bluevette74
02-04-2002, 10:18 AM
well its not really that much to bore and stroke a engine, but since you have to pull the engine, rip it apart, buy new heads, rings, pistons etc. it will run around 2 grand! but hey its worth it! And i like how you put it "5.7 liter 350, not a corvette engine" I hate when people have a 350 in a suburban and then they tell me its a corvette engine, i tell them, its a corvette block, but by no means is it a corvette engine!

JBL85
02-04-2002, 12:27 PM

hey. at least i put a disclaimer saying that it was a 5.7 but i wasnt sure if it was the actual vette engine (at least i think i did), so will ya guys forgive me? pleeeease haha :D

Someguy
02-05-2002, 11:20 PM
Actually the LS1 displaces 347 CI not a 350, but is a descentant from the 350 line. The design is basically the same, but not exactly, and the parts aren't all interchangable. L98/LT1 vs. LS1 for example.

But, anyway. My boss sees upper 20s mpg on the road, and low 20s around town for an average of 24 1/2 in his LS1, so fuel economy isn't half bad for a car putting out 345 hp. But who ever brings fuel economy to hp fight is just making excuses. There are much better reasons then fuel economy not to drive a f-body.

Chris
02-06-2002, 12:31 PM
Boring and Stroking the 350 LS1 is very expensive. They use a special cylinder liner, and until last year, it wasn't possible to bore it at all!! So it would be more than 2 grand. Lingenfelter does it, and I know a Canadian company that does it. I will find out how much they charge and website tomorrow (I work tonight:( )

Someguy
02-06-2002, 01:03 PM
Yeah, I don't there is enough meat on the cylinder liners to do any significant boring on the LS1. Re-sleeving the block is a big deal.

joeB
02-06-2002, 01:25 PM
346 cu in on the LS1.:)

agostino-racing.com (http://www.agostino-racing.com/home.html) is one site. They are in Toronto. You could contact them for more info.

Also, if you went the stroker route, you would have a 383, and it would be cheaper.

I own a cobra, and ive owned a camaro..I like both cars..I respect everyone views of the car they prefer..but it really is the person not the car..The driver makes all the difference on how it runs. I have slight mods on my car. Underdrive pulleys and a BBK cold air kit. Ive never had much of a problem beating a SS. The 4.6L 4V engine is impressive for its size, but ford didnt do right by it.. They should have stayed with the original intention of just going with the 5.4L. Yes the intended for the 331 to be put in the regular cobra. If they did, well we all wouldnt be here arguing who is faster..Now since the GM boys are gone except for the vette guess who ford is gonna compete with now? So for the time being that the rest are taking a vacation, us ford men will be doing whats right..Burning rice and eating kraut:sun:

Remember people, its good to have friendly competition within the family, but its the guest from outside our home who needs to be delt with..Rumor has it that the foreign boys are coming out with faster cars..Who said They were allowed to be fast :flipa:

What the hell are you ford people thinking. I own a 2002 35th Anv. SS and that weak ass cobra doesnt have a shot plus it totally looks like crap. Everyone knows the only reasons people buy fords in the first place is because they cant afford a chevy. Camaro's are the classic american sports car and always will be. Ford owners get a life and get with the program because we all know you have to be getting tired of having your ass handed to you on the street.

First off i would like to say..if we wanted to have someone act an ass we would have asked..number 2..the stock cobra and camaro are not far apart in performance whatsoever..your just a tinsy bit faster not the world..got it? So before you go ranting and raving on how your car is soo much faster than a cobra, check the specs and shut the hell up.

Chris

Ok, now calm down a little, OK?

I am unbiased in this case, and here are the facts:
1) Mustangs are cheaper than Camaro's, but not by much. It is mostly inconsequential to those who are shopping for muscle car.
2) Mustang SVT's get better traction off the line than a SS, because the stang has the independent rear suspension. So it will beat the Camaro to the other side of the intersection.
3) Styling is subjective, get over it.
4) Handling, the SVT is a little better, thanks to the IRS
5) Power: Camaro SS now has only 5 more hp than the SVT Cobra, but in the past, it was approx. 15 more. But the Camaro can make a lot more power for much cheaper, 'cuz its a bigger engine, and is just better for power production. Also, the cost from factory difference is accpetable for the extra power the bow tie gives (lets not say "I could add a blower to a stang for the savings over a Camaro", because put the same blower on the Camaro, bye bye Mustang, all over again. And if you aren't willing to spend a little money, start collecting crackerjacks)
6) Transmission. A mixed bag. The SS has a 6 speed, but the 1-4 skip shift (a $30 fix, but still annoying to need to fix). But the Mustang has a 5 speed, which is worse.
7) Interior. The stang seats suck in the GT, not sure about SVT though. The camaro seats are good. IDeally, you would get some MOMO's for them, and the steering wheel also. Speaking of wheels, the Camaros is better. Otherwise, the Camaro is cheaper inside.
8) Speed: The Camaro is faster, not by much, but it is. An imperfect shift here, a tad too much wheelspin there, and you lose.

Now viewing the facts, you decide what you want. I would get the Camaro, but I can't anymore (production stopped in september), so the Mustang will do fine.
