This kit and the aftermarket parts are a dream for a lot of us.

I was thinking of buying it but i'm too unexperimented for this one, i'll have lots of closer looks to your thread to learn from your techniques and methods around this very detailed one.

Thank you again for sharing.

It's quite funny how you started with the dash, I don't think a lot of people do that. Although, I must admit I would too. It's one of my favorite parts on the real Enzo. So very simple and yet, so amazing...
All the carbon work you have ahead of you is (or should be) quite a challenge. I tried CF for the first time on my Nissan R32 (currently in progress) and I must say it's not as easy as it seems to get it right! I torn apart several templates do get the hood looking satisfactory...

Now a little question/suggestion:
Why don't you build your Enzo as an "All Carbon" version? I'm sure it will look amazing metallic black with black wheels, but with all that CF and detail you already have, the all carbon version would be even better (in my HUMBLE opinion). I know it should take about 6 or 7 sheets of decal to achieve that, but hey...what's a "couple" bucks extra? :evillol:

By the way, could you give us a hint on HOW MUCH you have spent?Damn!:biggrin:
Eheheheh, you have to be crazy, and must be crazy in love with the Enzo...:iceslolan

Best regards, and the best of luck,
Pedro.

Here are the updated pics.

I started out with the dash board becuase its by far the most complecated decaling job...to make it look realistic is pretty hard so I decaled, painted the buttons, all the buttons are painted in appropriate colors and in appropriate order... keys in the ignition, key chain, bolts are photoetch items that come with the superdetail kit.. so are the keys and the keyring.

also, as a side note, its important to put a lot of gloss on the interior cf parts, as they are high gloss in the real thing:

http://www.joeyandmona.com/albums/album136/1_G_001.sized.jpg

http://www.joeyandmona.com/albums/album136/2_G_001.sized.jpg

http://www.joeyandmona.com/albums/album136/3_G_001.sized.jpg

getting that decal over the vent surrounds was a royal pain

http://www.joeyandmona.com/albums/album136/4_G_001.sized.jpg

brakes.... these amazing mini masterpieces are a 7 piece afairs with resin calipers and photoetch brake pads...although unpainted at this time and without bolts, they still are amazing...

http://www.joeyandmona.com/albums/album136/5_G_001.sized.jpg

http://www.joeyandmona.com/albums/album136/6_G_001.sized.jpg

the seats.. carbon fiber, deep gloss, will also be equiped with buttons for recline function and seat belt harness

http://www.joeyandmona.com/albums/album136/7_G_001.sized.jpg

http://www.joeyandmona.com/albums/album136/8_G_001.sized.jpg

wheels, metal removable center knock offs, sakatsu valve stems

test fitting.. rear wheels:

I am lucky, the superdetail kit from scale motorsports comes with carbon fiber templates and they are dead on! as soon as you put some Microsol, they just melt into the shape you want!

Excellent product. So far my two favorite CF decals are SMS and SAS, both conform very well to complex surface.

mike@af
04-09-2004, 11:56 AM
Holy shit! The detail is amazing!!! I cant believe this is a 1/24 scale model any longer. It reminds me of the 1/8 Scale Ferrari F40 Build going on.

Beautiful work so far! I cant wait to see more!

Some updates.

I got the photo cd from scale motorsports and its super super detailed, areas that I have never found photos on, over 250 photos of chasis, motor and interior.

Thank you SMS!

Here is the door panels... let me just say what pain it is to decal it straight with its amount of complez angles and concave surfaces.... i shot a couple of gloss coats over it to make it look like real cf..

http://www.joeyandmona.com/albums/album136/1_G_002.sized.jpg

Made seats.. carbon fiver back, sides, intalled the side mounted lumbar supprt buttons, harness and entched details...

More updates, Finished preliminary work on the engine pleniums. decals are sms cf, all the wiring and proper lines, ignition wires, etc., photoetch runners, photoetch bolts, etc...

http://www.joeyandmona.com/albums/album136/1_G_003.sized.jpg

http://www.joeyandmona.com/albums/album136/2_G_003.sized.jpg

the headers.. notice the heat wraps, oe emmision sensonsors, heat discoloration...now notice the little photoetch badges on the header exits...they are there for a very good reason...

http://www.joeyandmona.com/albums/album136/3_G_003.sized.jpg

photo of the real engine and headers.. notice on the headers there are same welded badges.. they all say "Ferarri Motorcompany" ;)

http://www.joeyandmona.com/albums/album136/5_G_002.sized.jpg

mock of the engine.. there are a number of additional wires I still have to run, inlduing oil lines, cooling lines, etc..

http://www.joeyandmona.com/albums/album136/4_G_003.sized.jpg

Please comment. I would like to make everything as realistic as possible!

SLK320, those aren't ignition wires in the picture of the real car, those are wires coming to fuel injectors. Consult your references, a picture from a different angle will show you where they go more clearly. What you did is you wired 7 nuts holding the cam cover in place.

slk320
04-15-2004, 12:47 AM
The lug nuts are still there, I checked the refferences, I will post more pics..I agree the the location of the wires is a little off... but that the best I could do, once everything is secured together the differences will not be noticeable.

I know that ENZO has elctronic ignition so the two leading wires out of the end of the cam cover are the ignition wires.

my goal, I guess is to make a realistic looking replica, so the specific wire location, especially ones that will be ultimately mostly covered are not as important.. I guess.

But I apreciate your comments, they are very helpfull, as is anyone who knows the real car! keep em coming please!

Freakin awesome mate. Is the thin rail round the airbox the original kit part or did you make your own? Its just I don't know how you could get the carbon on without removing that bit. Oh and what colour did you use for the engine block?

Also are you gonna put the scrunchy reflective foil around the exhaust?

Good luck and keep it coming.

Cheers
