Please recommend Airbrush
Hey peoples.
I need to buy an airbrush. Two reason my wife does not like the smell of the spray paint and i am finding that i would like to air brush more of my smaller parts that really don't justify buying the spray cans for. I will be using a Welding setup for the feeding using an udjustable regulator to control the airflow. I am going this way as i already have a scuba compressor to filling my tank will be very easy and convient ![]() I would like to find one for sale someplace who uses Paypal as i do have funds in the paypal account itching to be used. Please give me some suggestions.. Regards, Michael |

Re: Please recommend Airbrush
About 8 threads below yours.
http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...d.php?t=878468 One of the key deciding factors is budget. Everyone that owns one and some who don't will strongly recommend an Iwata, whether you choose a Eclipse or Revolution range model and which model is dependant upon what you personally intend to use the airbrush for and how much you want to spend. Insisting on it being paypal limits your options as where you can shop from, you either need to be open to other methods of paying or accept you're limiting yourself.

Re: Please recommend Airbrush
Here are the important things:
Dual action, gravity feed, preferably made by Iwata, Badger or Paasche. DixieArt is a good site for airbrush shopping.

Re: Please recommend Airbrush
So what would be the better buy?
VSR90- Gravity Feed or 94 R4500 Iwata Revolution The VSR90 has removable cups however the Iwata is dual action. |

Re: Please recommend Airbrush
Both are dual action.
I would recommend the Iwata Revolution myself. I have both Paasche and Iwata airbrushes and the Iwata's are leagues better. Also, the fine control you can achieve with the Revolution is awesome. Also, don't think that a removal cup makes things easier, it actually makes for more areas for paint to dry into and more complexity in cleaning.

Re: Please recommend Airbrush
Yep, that should work - that's a pretty good price too
![]() Keep in mind, these airbrushes don't come with a hose.

Re: Please recommend Airbrush
Avoid the VSR90 like the plague! The cups are crap, don't sit well and the hole deforms over time unless you are ULTRA careful. I had one and part exchanged it after 2 tries.
The HP CR is an excellent choice (I have one ![]()

Re: Please recommend Airbrush
Michael, I am now totally confused between all your airbrush questions and purchases in different threads.
I think if you read through them all, you will find all the information you need. you can do everything with a 0,3mm a 0,35mm and 0,5mm tip IMHO there is nothing that you will be doing in car modeling that will need below a 0,3mm tip and you can do bodies with that too but bodies are just easier with a 0,5 due to the greater coverage and it's ability to to deal better with bigger pigments in some paints. The choice of actual brush is down to budget and persoanl preference IMO Good luck with your airbrush ![]()

Re: Please recommend Airbrush
I ran with a craft store badger brush for years and it was great, however, about a year ago I was in the running for a nicer brush. I spent months deliberating and researching everything and finally went for the Iwata HP-C plus.
I am sure there are many other opinions and everyone I have spoken to likes different brushes for different reasons, I am already planning on buying another brush!!! Most of the guys in my club own about 5 or 6!!!!!!!!!!!! I am completely happy with my Iwata and if I get another brush it will probably be an Iwata, however, you have to choose within your current budget and go for it! I guess that's all part of the fun!! One thing to remember is that the Tamiya brushes are manufactured by Iwata and you may get a similar brush to what you are looking at for a little less cash, whatever you decide, you can't beat an airbrush, enjoy it!!
