White Enzo

Revell's terrific Enzo kit. I have the Tamiya as well, but I'm terrified to start it. I've got 3 more Revell's to build; then I should be ready for the Tamiya.

The paint is Krylon for plastic gloss white. Polished up nicely, but it seemed to need a little extra. I was working on the Mustang GT and thought the black stripes might look pretty good. I forgot to paint the wing, so I covered it with a piece of scrap SMS High Def CF. Turned out OK. Didn't like the silver wheels, so I stripped them and painted them black ala the FXX. The templates for the screen were way off, so I had to make tape templates for them. Looks fairly realistic, although much bigger than Tami's.

I think I'll add a GT style wing and see how it looks. I saw an awesome Enzo GT on another board that was absolutely incredible (Is it OK to link to another site?). Might do something like that on the next one.

The pics:

I think next time I'll use Tamiya's painting instructions for the Revell Enzo. Most of the Revell instructions conflict with the Tamiya, and look nothing like the real Enzo. Used cigarette foil for the firewall. Could be applied neater next time. Engine bay:

Does anyone have a spare Ferrari logo like the one on the front quarter panel? Mine is MIA.

Thanks!

Great job and very unusual paint job/color.

Re: White Enzo

Great color scheme you have chosen and neat execution on the "stripes". Keep up the great work and the ideas you´re coming up with to have unique subjects.

Re: White Enzo

Good job so far: the only note I'll say is about the strips shape: I would see them narrowed following the nose edge, anyway good.

I'm not too happy how the front stripe looks, but I'd be even more unhappy if I FUBAR'd the narrowing. Next one will have the stripes masked and painted.

Re: White Enzo

you're afraid for the tamiya kit? Don't be.. you're work shows you're up to the job. And i love the white-black stripe. So simpel, but so effective.

Re: White Enzo

Small update. My wife looked at this today and asked when I was going to finish with the decals. She thought it looked sort of plain, so I added some that were left over from the C6R I built.

Think of it as a rich privateer racer who always wanted to race at LeMans. I'll add more if I find any appropriate ones.

If anyone has extras and want to see them put on, send 'em to me.

I started another Enzo as well. Tried to weather the exhaust. What do you think?

I've gone Enzo crazy. I have at least 2 more Revell Enzos planned out and waiting to be started. I figure after 4 Revells, I should be ready for the Tamiya.

Does anyone need an Enzo engine? The next one will be curbside and you won't be able to see the engine. I hate to waste it. If it can help anyone PM me. Maybe we can trade!
