Mica Blue Question?

Well here is my dumb question?

What is the difference between Mica Blue (Tamiya Spray Can) to the Regular Tamiya Blue ( in the paint jar X-4)?
How can I make mica blue without purchasing the Tamiya spray can. I don't want to buy it because I like using my airbrush!

Oh yah it's for the Impreza pictured below in my signature.:silly2:

Just buy the spray can and spray it into a jar. It's pre-thinned, just make sure you have some lacquer thinner around...

The difference.....
Mica blue is a metallic blue, it is darker than the x-4 blue but lighter than the metallic blue, I tried to mix it but after an hour of trying gave up.
Like Jay said, buy the spray can and spray it into the jar, it is easier, I did it and it worked great.

If you don't want to pay big bucks for Tamiya paint, buy an automotive spraycan. In Australia at least, it costs ha;f the price and you get twice the quantity.

here is a mix from a hasegawa subaru wrc it uses gunze arcrylics.
(paint no 65at 35% no 80 35%& no 47 at 30%). I have not used it but the mix makes sense, i just cant remember what colours they are. I found this at www.1999.co.jp where you can view the instructions for some of the models, hope it helps.
Regards Bob.

Well it isn't that I don't want to but the Tamiya Spray can it's because I've spent bucks on my airbrush and comp.

It's all good and thanks for the help guys, this section gives more help than a Hobby Store! Keep it up.:flash:

Another option is to go have some automotive paint mixed for you. Over here they usually can mix as little as 50 gramms of paint. And you won't need to have it mixed with hardener before painting as it's a metallic colour. You will need a paint code for that, and the World Rally Blue paint on the late model Scoobie is 02c.

Good luck.
