Interview for Promotion, to take resume or not?
Ok, stupid question here, I'm a freshman in college and have an interview tommorow for a promotion at work. I am currently a "parking cashier" at the stadium and am interviewing for a promotion to a "lead", should I bring my resume with me to the interview or not?? I've never had an actual interview for a job before since all my previous jobs (I live in the country on a farm) have been informal working for my dad or friends family and that sort of deal. Its pretty low key where I work and I'm pretty sure the promotion is a given, but I'm still not sure about the resume.
Heck, I never really even interviewed for my current position, a friend worked there, told her supervisor if she needed extra help that I'll work, then I was told if I wanted a job it was mine... So, should I bring my resume or not? (I'm thinking, yes it can't hurt...but I want some input) Thanks -Ryan |

In most cases, it's beneficial if you do for their quick reference. Sometimes, they just call you in and during the interview they don't even look at your resume, but I still say you go in just in case the employer expects you to. Good luck!

Take it with you, make sure it is updated with current job, though, and any current address and phone.

i say yes take it along and tell them you have it with them and ask if they would be interested in taking a look at it if they want. better to be over-prepared than caught without it. good luck with the interview!

It would be better to have it in the event that they might ask for it. If they don't ask for it, no big deal, but at least you were prepared.

Just bring it in a portfolio in case they ask for it. It won't hurt to even offer them and updated resume. Good luck!
