Moby Dick Boxster Completed (56K warning?)

Moby Dick Boxster Completed

Finally completed: my Black/Silver Boxster SE. It’s basically an OOB Tamiya SE kit but with a non-standard livery.

In the end it was painted with TS Gloss Black and I used BMF for trim highlights on the bodywork (air vent grills and wing mirrors) and in the cockpit. Paint is not cleared-coated but just polished with compound and Maguire’s wax.

Cockpit was flocked, painted with a mixture of blacks and Alclad2 Aluminum. Some minor details were also added but these can best be seen in the progress thread.

Considering everything that went wrong during the process, I think it’s not too bad but as always I’m very interested in your feedback.

PS There’s a prize for spotting the rather unusual moment I caught in one of the photos

Thanks for looking, and I hope you like it.

Progress thread here:

That looks really good. Looks better then mine, as you did some BMF detail etc. Wheels look nice, I wanted the same for mine, but I only had the standard boxster kit, not the SE.

Lights look a little cleaner then mine as well. Top build, and worth the hassle. Good man for sticking with it.

As for the pictures - I can see you hand and camera in the hood.

Beautifully done, Stevenski. Glad to see this one finished, especially after all the troubles its given you. Terrific looking paint job, nice BMF work, and I really like the look of the wheels (and great pics!). Another build to be proud of.

nice, very very nice!

You are improving so fastly!

awesome!

might I suggest one thing tho... I think putting the porsche decals on the hubcaps will result in an even better looking car, which is ... already awesome!

Fantastic black finish! Very nicely done.

That airplane in the clouds is a cool effect on the hood.
