Re: ff honda drifting

Soyo, have you been reading this forum while you're postwhoring? How many times do we need to shut people down for saying FF can't drift? Sure, they're not as spectacular as FR's RR's or AWD's, but for the purposes of speed, an FF car can be made to drift to kill the understeer. But yeah, no D1 for FF's. Just shut up with the FF's can't drift crap, makes you sound like an idiot.

FF drifting is retarted. When drifting FF, you have to use the hand brake.

well if people would stop trying to say FF can drift I would stop telling them that FF can't drift and honetly you sound like the idiot

have a read this thread while I'm postwhoring? ok I guess if asking and answering questions is postwhoring, I'm trying to help others learn while learning even more myself, thats why I'm on these forums, so yea I post a lot, if it wasn't for people like myself that posted a lot then these forums would be boring and noone would read them cuz it would never have new stuff... I think I've made my point

Re: ff honda drifting

have you seen the video?
he has all the elements of the drift, minus the rwd.

find it, and then you'll see what's going on.

why be an ass? be the bigger man.

as snoop dogg said... "brush them haters off"

Re: ff honda drifting

well by deffinition FF can't drift, "the act of putting enouh power to the rear wheels to break traction and spin while keeping the car in a sideways position while rounding a series of corners" that would be drifting, show me a FF car that puts power to the rear wheels and makes them spin and I'll agree with you, oh wait then it'd have to be either rwd or awd, ok ok so FF can't drift still... I don't know what makes you people want to argue with me about this so much, if the definition of a drift is that blunt about it how can you even suggest that FF can drift? ok now seriously just don't mention it anymore

Re: ff honda drifting

You can lock up the wheels instead of spinning 'em. It's the same, except that for FF, it slows you down more so You can't really maintain the drift for very long. FF squats on acceleration just like every car (I want an MR2 dammit), so this takes the weight/traction off of the drive wheels in corner exit. This isn't usually enough to lose all steering ability on exit, but it does mean that the slip angles on the front tires of an FF will be very different than those of an FR. I drive an FR, because like you, I know that they are superior as far as a driving prospect than FF's. On decreasing radius corners (corners that tighten up as you progress through them) FR's have a HUGE advantage over FF's. Plus the fact that the squat applies weight to the drive wheels when you need it - corner exit acceleration - means FR's will always be faster and more managable.

But still. FF's are "drifting' when they drift. It was a word with a meaning long before it was a sport. You choose to view drifting as a word with a narrower meaning than I. I just say, when you're not gripping through a corner, you are drifting. Because that's what's happening: you are d r i f t i n g, sliding, exceeding your tires lateral grip accidentally or via some technique. FF's like throttle lift-off; I could go on and on and on. I don't want to seem like a last word freak. Go ahead, I won't reply to your reply I swear. Maybe. Okay I lied.

Re: ff honda drifting

I'm done with drifting, the import ricer bandwagoneers decided to jump to the Drifting bandwagon but since they own FF Civics they powerslide and want to call it drift SO BADLY.

A powerslide is fundamentally different from a drift, if powersliding was drifting, then forget building up a drift machine, forget that damper kit and negative camber angles. Just buy a 500 dollar beater, pull up the ebrake during a turn, and call yourself a drifter.

Bunta, you're an initial D fanboy...
