Subaru Impreza Grp A, Winfield

This is the Winfield Impreza as was seen on the 24 Heures de Ypres rally in 1997, the car was driven by Belgian driver Bruno Thiry.

The decals are from CB Com and came with the appropriate wing too, I used the Revell AG Impreza kit as a base for this car.
Additional modifications to the kit include lowering the suspension as well as narrowing the suspension to fit the tarmac wheels under the car.

I have to say a big THANK YOU to Chris(FOTW) for sending me this transkit, it was a great one to work with and nice to build a rally Impreza that wasn't mica blue.

LMK what you guys think.

Very nice car, and build, but maybe you should use a bit lower compression ratio on the red... would make it look even better.

Alos , it's a terrific job on the whole a big A+

The interior looks killer. That's an awesome model, and I agree, It's nice to see that someone races Subarus besides the factory team.

I totally agree, it’s nice to see some changes in the usual standard colour schemes of some cars, and this one goes really well with the Impreza. Flawless and very beautiful.

I'm surprised! I didnt know you were working on this???

I'm really glad to this built, i must have purchased that decal set some 5 years ago and never had the chance to build it. I knew it was a smart move giving it to you coz u have done a superb job!!!

BTW, are those some of the rims i made for your Megane?

Thanks for the feedback guys

Chris, I stole these wheels out of an Arai kit I got recently which will also be changing its colors, the Megane hasn't been touched in the last month but it is close to finished now.
I'm glad you're happy to see the finished kit.

Olivier, I would love to lower the compression ratio on the red, but the photo software I have on this PC is pretty basic and doesn't allow that.

Re: Subaru Impreza Grp A, Winfield

Somebody had to take one hell of a time to clean all the rally mud and crap off that car to make it that nice. I say this because the few I've seen had the mud and all but that's cool.

Nice job!! Now that Revell has re-issued the old Hasegawa kit maybe we will see some more decal/transkits for the older Subies - maybe some of the cars form the Irish Tarmac or Italian series. Heres hoping.
