Porsche 935/76 K1

Hi guys,
I want to convert this 935:

into this version:

..of course in 1/24.
The main issue will be rebuild all the tale, make front wheelarch wider and in correct shape and rebuild decals.I will use 1/12 kit, as master for the smaller one.
I also prefer to finish it in a different livery, even if the images I've found around the net are only renderings of the Martini car, just painted different:

..even if I found a pic oline where it seems to be existed for real.if so please tell me and I will close the model in the (nicer imho) Jag livery:

It should be the 1977-Bergisher Lowe Zolder winner driven by Manfred Schurti.
If someone has more pics of this car please help me.I like it more than ordinary martini.

Re: Porsche 935/76 K1

I'll be watching how you proceed wit this. I wish that Tamiya would shrink down their 1/12 935, 934 and 910 kits to 1/24!

Re: Porsche 935/76 K1

Yes, it is really a shame they did not. There is an impressive difference in quality and details between 24 and 12 model. The smaller is basically a toy, showing all its 30 yrs moulding.

I was ALSO looking if it was possible to finish the model in another livery.I like Martini, but is a too famous car.
Looking around I've found a special box done in limited edition by Exoto featuring both 934 and 935

http://exotomodels.com/racing-legend...-gift-set-118/

they say:
This is a VERY RARE Exoto 1/18 Jagermeister 1976 Porsche 934 RSR & 1977 Porsche 935 Turbo 2-Car Gift Set!

It contains the cars that Max Moritz ran in 1976 and 1977. The Porsche 934 RSR was run at the 1976 Nurburgring 1000KM, and the 935 Turbo won the 1977 Norisring trophy.

And it is Priced for 2500 dollars.LOL

I could be mistaken ,but suspect this expensive twin package item have a mistake in the 935 front lights, cause according to all all infos I have It was a car with single front light (and not double as Ickx le mans car).

So nice pic taken at the Ring,I love it.

Anyway before decide the livery I start ask here(can be as for that 996 gt1 evo testcar I didnt know the carbon fiber livery..so lets wait someone more informed than me)

And in italian forum a friend linked me this site with almost all racing 935s.There is no pic of double front light jagermeister:
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsc...te-photos.html

..for now I start scan the decal sheet from the bigger sister.

Re: Porsche 935/76 K1

ok, now is time to show the naked girls...

Long night here,no way to sleep, good music (daft punk),a nice documentary from the 70s on motor tv, and lets go..

I scaled down the draw on tamiya istructions to make the dime for the side fenders.
So now in my list of the things to do I wrote:
-rebuild secondary grill over main rear wing
-create double lights
-rebuild exhaust area
-rebuild all the lower back are of the rear wing (where there are still the 4 holes)
-rebuild front lip
-detail the 2 lateral Nacas
-side radiators
-water lines on the roof
-connection btw side air vent and lower door

...thats all for now... time for a cold beer. Carlsberg?

Re: Porsche 935/76 K1

Nice project lovegt40, I'll follow this WIP closely because I want to build a 935 out of an early 935. You've made some great progress here. After my 917 I'm going to build the first 935 from the Ardvark transkit. Good luck with this one Lovegt40.

Re: Porsche 935/76 K1

Hello,

I'm following this one.
One of the greatest Porsches of all.
I've finished 3 of these in 1/24, all started from the Tamiya 935.
( Georg Loos, Jägermiester and the white Dick Barbour )

At the moment I'm working on the 1/24 Peter Gregg Brumos 935 version.

Very nice progress you make.
Are you going to do the Martini livery?

Re: Porsche 935/76 K1

thank u for the encouragement guys It helps, even more when skilled modellers follows me.

@Eric your 917 is a masterpiece.is the most important porsche of the past.too nice build btw.

@beaver... do it.It is easyer than what I thought. The trick is only to scale down a good draw and work with 1mm thick plasticard.

@joka : yes, studying pics I see now I can only close it as Martini car.Jagermeister car had ONLY single light in front. All the others are k2...k3..k4..so later models.
I am already reducing in scale the tamiya 1/12 decal sheet (thanks to my great friend Andrea, my graphic)
If u have any link of your models joka plz pass me theme.I would love to look theme and study pics.

I see you also widened the front fenders on your car, have to say that this is missing on my models. It really looks great.

Hope you like my models,

For different livery you could try the Walter Wolf 935

Re: Porsche 935/76 K1

njia...think will remain in the classical martini livery.already scanned the 1/12 sheets, so soon will print all in alps.
The tamiya in 24 scale has a lot of mistakes I see, also rear wing is different than 1/12 model. It is a real old model.

Re: Porsche 935/76 K1

here we go with the 935.
The rear main wing was retouched moving the secondary intercooler grille .In the bigger model is in a different position and with a different(smaller) shape.I've prepared also the right metal net for the rear naca duct.
The 70s' toysh style wheels have been retouched first of all keeping away the heavy factory chrome paint, then drilling the inner part from the rim back to reach the holes of the famous and typical BBS rims. The paint is alclad2.I've added the tire valve and dunlop decals.Inner rim color is tamiya titanium gold, with a final wash of H95 smoke by Gunze.

old style tamiya wheels from my model:

retouched...

Meanwhile I've started to clean Ditech body for Alzen turbinchen 2006.Is a resin body that needs a lot of improve, but I like the car,and there is nothing else around to make it:
