Ferrari 330 P3/4

The wheels are PE brass and machined aluminum.

The centers had to be bowed to fit into the rim. I made a plug and pressed them to dish them uniformly.

Nice to see another 1/43 in progress. Which kit is this 330 P3/4?

Re: Ferrari 330 P3/4

It is a Marsh kit.
I'm still here Mike. Give me a call if you'd like...

Wheels and tires are done, as is the steering wheel. It was cast with a horn button so I drilled it out to match the race car’s wheel.

Seat is done. Real car’s upholstery is not leather but vinyl…

Re: Ferrari 330 P3/4

The body is resin (with a few PE detail parts) and needed some clean-up. The vent slots needed the most attention, and the front splitter was C shaped so I cut it out and replaced it with a stainless steel piece I made up.
Tamiya Italian Red was applied, as well as the decals…

Re: Ferrari 330 P3/4

The kit did not come with windows, not that it mattered too much, the kit was supposed to only supply sheet clear plastic. I made a template for the windshield and rear window, the side door windows were made from measurements. Like the real car (unfortunately) they mount from the outside. I made decals to clean up the edges were they mounted to the body.
They did provide vac-u-formed headlight covers…
Still more details to add, but I think it is near the final stretch of assembly.

Damn beautiful! Top notch works on the windshield! Did you vacuum formed them from the template?

Re: Ferrari 330 P3/4

I guess I should have been clearer in my description, the windows are all formed from flat sheet clear. I made a template from paper card stock for the windshield and once it fit I transferred the shape to the clear material.
The cement holds them in the curved shapes. I did not make a mold or vac-u-form them.

Great work! Your 43rd scale models look better than many 24th-25th scale models!
