Re: What were the 1st mods you ever made on your car?

intersting that most people modded the sound system first when they got their car... performance was last on the list... just interesting...

I guess it is some of the cheapest stuff you can add to a car...

That depends on what type of system you are going for...a starter system, a mid-level or a compition level. A sound sytem's price can vary greatly depending on the products you are getting. Getting a system with 2 12" DVC ID MAx V3's ($450 EACH, 1000 watts rms) and an amp that can play those things is far from cheap...if that's the route you go. Now if you are fine with crap like MTX Thunder 4500's and a cheap ass amp, then yes that is much cheaper. Are you fine with 2 volt pre-outs or are you willing to spend a little more for high volt (4 volt) pre-outs, etc. At any route, why not sound? Driving with a radio/tape deck and crap for a stereo is no fun. IMO decent sound (at the very least), is one of the first thigs to due. It helps have the daily commute bearable, and lt's face it, Civics came with sound systems FAR from being decent.

First mods for my dx were....
1) Steering wheel cover to keep from burning my hands on the wheel.
2) Nice big rubber floor mats. Stock ones are in the trunk.
3) E-brake handle-Don't do it. Not worth effort. Lots of fabrication.
4) Auto shift lever-ended up not fitting right and it is in the glove box.

Hope to put in a Y8 intake mani and cold air/short ram intake. Maybe a little engine dressup. Then I will continue with the interior. E brake boot is needed.

I don't have a lot of money and I am wondering if I should work on the car, or save up for xbox360, games, and FFXII for PS2.

First real mod to my CRX was my semi-built ZC, which I'm currently putting in right now. I've owned the car since summer of 2003, and this is the first real thing I've done to it, besides a CD player which it needed badly.

Waiting to arrive (and install, to get this baby running!)
Walbro fuel pump, PWR radiator, PM7 ECU

Look out, I can run 17's allllll day.

Noone did an aluminum wing first?

Some of yall did euro tail lights though

My first mod was body work and paint. If you call that a mod. If not then it was my worthless cool air intake.

That's incredible!!!! One might even say...unbelievable !!!!
Carbon fiber intake AND strut bar!!! No cf steering wheel though? I mean, if you're gonna get the intake and strut bar, you might as well get the wheel to go with. Don't forget to invest in a cf turbo kit!

My first mod was an alarm. In fact, I didn’t even take the car home the first day, I brought it straight to the alarm shop to have the install done the next day. My second mod was a tow hitch about a year later. And yes I’ve used it a few times like when I was switching apartments or taking my sister’s jet-ski to the mechanic.
