Burnouts!!

How do you stay in one place while burnin out. I see drag racers do it. How do they do it?

A linelock will do it. I don't know the logistics involved cause I don't have one yet, but I believe it holds your front brakes until you release them, giving you ample time to burn out...or vice versa.

Powerbrake it for automatics

Drop to low

No, getting the tire shop to mount a set a week is expensive. Any junkyard has tires for next to nothing!

You get a Hemi and mate it to a 727 transmission and then to a dana 4:10 rear gear box. All you have to do after that is mash the gas and you'll be able to burn right through the tires, rims, and roters/drums all without moving.

I think a Hemi and 4.10 gears is kind of excessive , but hey, whatever floats yer boat.

For me, gimme a 427 Cammer and a C6. Gears don't matter much when you have that kind of torque

There are those funky brake control valves, that will shut off the rear brakes for burnouts. I keep thinking that would have to really raise the hydraulic pressure though...

FWD

FWDs are super easy for burnouts =)

Pull the e-brake, power break to a nice higher RPM (or bring up the RPM with the clutch in for manuals), let go the break (or clutch) and let it fly. I've noticed that they can do bigger ones in reverse too.

So what happens if your little FWD car has more power than the Ebrake can hold? it slides forward... yay... E-brake burnouts... oh boy i've never seen a better way to put flat spots on the rear tires... good going jimbo you put flat spots in your $300 tires.. horrah!

... and any car can do a decent burnout in reverse... its a steeper gear than all the rest.

Actually, I barely do burnouts, but I did it a few days ago and planted my back tires behind a big speedbump, curbs would probably be even better.

So there, lol
