Revell Ferrari 288 GTO
Has anyone seen or built this kit:
Revell Ferrari 288 GTO I didn`t realize that Revell released this. I have been wiating years to get an accurate model of this car. However, from those pictures, it looks like Revell reboxed the old Testors/Italeri kit, which was alright except for the wheels and tires. Anyone know for sure? |

It's indeed a reissue of the Italeri kit. I built it many years ago, it's actually a very decent kit and a whole hell of a lot less fussy than the Fujimi Enthusiast kit. I lowered it a bit in the front a couple years ago. I'm very satisfied w/it, even if it's not perfect. I don't have any desire to spend the 20-30 hours to get a Fujimi Enthusiast kit put together.

yes, reissue of italeri stuff: not bad but wrong tyres, non steerable wheels but quetly good engine details (something hard to right-align on the fuji stuff: air duct and some other), fuji ent. better for sure (less than for those fifth wheel)

I built the Fujimi Enthusiast version years ago. I was just amazed by the level of detail. To me the wheels and tires look more realisitic on the Fujimi 288 GTO.
If you have a chance get the Fujimi-288 GTO. Itīs worth looking for it and paying high ebay-prices.

Re: Revell Ferrari 288 GTO
I too built the Fujimi kit, in the "yellow" edition, and it was such a good kit (I still have it in perfect condition after more than 15 years) that I bought it again when it was reissued last year! Yes, it looks like a daunting job to assemble it, but what you get in the end is a very very nice representation of one of the most beautiful Ferraris, the proportions are dead on and the detail level is very high.
