Axis R32

Just got this one over the weekend as well as the Falken R32 kit. So far I've just opened up the doors. Anyone have any shots of this car? I've had some trouble looking for reference material on these Group A and Group N cars.

Thanks!

Re: Axis R32

May I ask what method you used to cut out the doors? They look so clean. Looks like an ambitious project...good luck.

Hi.

The doors were cut out using some nylon thread. It really wasn’t that hard at all. The one thing I did do before using the thread was to use my narrowest panel line scriber and go through the line I’m going to scribe a couple times over. This helps narrow the plastic and makes my thread cutting much easier.

Thanks for the pix Oli! Where did you get these from (or what did you search under)? I’m really interested in interior shots and that of the engine bay and trunk areas. I held off on removing the trunk lid as I wasn’t sure what the insides of that would look like.

I’m still contemplating how to do the door hinges to make them look somewhat realistic or at leas hide them so they don’t look too out of place. Any ideas?

a.

Got a bit done on this one but looks a bit plain to me... I have to fix the fitment between the wheelwells in the interior (the slight gap doesn't sit well with me.)

Re: Axis R32

Just a bit of sanding should fix the gap issue, like here:

I'm actually making a similar project in the street section, but i didn't had to extend the wheel wells.

I'll be watching this one for sure !

Re: Axis R32

Great job scratchbuilding those door sills, you really know your stuff!
Amazing that the chassis needed to be extended out so far.
