Found out whats wrong with the civic..

the distributor went. man this is setting be back about 350 for labor and all that great jazz..

sucks. I remember when my dizzy went out ... took out my cateletic converter right along with it.

LABOR?? don't pay labor to get the distributer changed, its the easiest thing to replace.

yeah for sure... it takes like 10 min to pull it off and have a new one on and all back together

not everyone is mechanicly inclined ... or have the tools ... hell i barely have the right tools to change my alternator ... and if greg hadnt shown me i dont think i could have done it right ...

heh, we only put a new belt on nemo we didnt change the whole thing.

lol i think me and my dad pulled my alt out the wrong way about 3 times till someone told be to pull it from the side

What do you mean "from the side"? I may have to remove my alt and I'd like to know the best way. I've got an 89 Si.

well you take alt off the mount, then remove the mount and pull back a piece of the splash guard behind the driver's wheel and you can pull it from the side.

Yep, that is correct.

To the dist problem, you don't have to mechanically inclined, just have an 8 mm socket/wrench and a 14 open end wrench. 3 screws for the cap and 3 bolts to remove the dist. that is it man, save yourself some money.
