Angry Tranny/Speedo cable problems :(

alright, my speedo cable is being a pain in the ass, when i try to put it in the tranny it wont go in! i've tried turning it everyway so the key would fit but it doesnt maybe theres something in there blocking it, i dunno cuz my old one litterally snapped and the key was sittin inside there but we got that out, is there a way i can take it apart to see if there was something stuck in there??? i really need ur guys help on this one cuz i dont wanna get a new tranny to get a fricken speedo cable 2 work!

(btw, the tranny is the stock one from the D15B2)

also, i noticed down by the piece where the cable goes in theres like a flat piece of metal bolted 2 the tranny, should I unbolt that or not?

The flat piece of metal was supposed to be taken off before you pulled out the cable. Maybe you ripped or apart or something.

shitty...
yea when i bought the car the speedo didnt work, so when we got it home I looked and it was ripped/snapped near the bottom
so if I unbolt that and take that thing off i can fix my problem?

If you can get the broken part out of the tranny it might work. It's about big enough you get get one of those grabber claw things (looks like a skinny metal tube you press a button on it and a claw comes out) that would probably get the broke part out. Just get a new speedo cable and put it in, can't be that hard.

Woo Hoo! think i may have solved my speedo cable prob!
the base was too thick so i had 2 sand it down hella lot, now it fits in awesomely, might take it for a test drive tonight after dinner, if I do i'll let u guys know if it works or not hehe
