2006 Lexus IS250 Problem

My fiend has an IS250 with only 90k miles on it. The shop is saying that she has alot of build-up in her valves and needs a $600 cleaning. Does this sound a bit weird for a Lexus with only 90k miles on it?

The IS250 does have an issue with that, but $600 is a little expensive.

If the car is running smooth, leave it alone.
