Red X's

Anyone know why some of the posted pics and some of the signature pics are showing as red x, there doesnt seem to be any pattern as to what shows at what time, it doesnt appear to be affecting any of the avatars though, I have not done any changes to my pc settings as far as I know. Have some new pics to post but dont want to spend the time uploading if I have a problem that will cause posting problems any ideas ?

From what I have noticed, pictures that are being uploaded to the AF servers and are being hosted on the AF server(like avatars are) are fine and won't show the red X, while pictures/images that are being linked to on other sites and image hosting services outside of AF seem to be the ones showing the red X's
I would imagine that the link to the pictures outside of the servers and therefore outside of AF's control are the ones that are most likely to show up with a red X as they are most likely to show a broken link.

Just my guess......

Actually, I uploaded my signature pics on AF, and they are no shows on my comp as well, I looked through the "AF in General" and I guess it isn't a real big problem with everyone, but I can't see any of the cool pics of the model cars here, ex. Lowyda's Cuda, etc.

Don't know yet, but would you please add your concerns here as well:

http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/t97986.html

(usually, the more people that have the problem, the sooner it gets fixed. )

Hey mate,
Quite a few are having the same problem. It is a server side problem because they have just moved the image server to a new machine (as I understand it). Should be fixed ASAP. Sorry for the down time.

I am glad I am not the only one who is getting those red x's too. I thought it was only me.

This works for me, once I disabled it, all the pictures load up. Even though I place AF under "trusted" the pics don't come on, you have to just totally disable it

The reason you are seeing some of the pictures and not others is probably because the ones you are seeing are in your cache. I don't think images stored on AF's server through the "upload" option are available.
