Canada, Mexico, and Europe see some models that don't exist in the states. There was the Chrysler Phantom R/T which you could only get in Mexico. There is a Chrysler Viper in Europe, and there is a Turbo Diesel Jeep available in Europe.

These are all things we don't see in the states. The Phantom R/T was sold as the LeBaron GTC over here, the Viper is only under the Dodge name, and the Jeep has only gasoline engines.

As for your LE Neon, I don't know, but that should have explained why it was under the Chrysler nameplate. I'll bet it is the same as a Dodge Neon SE.

Thanx for the info on the label poly.....
Now I have a couple of questions for ya'll.
1. Would a shift-kit give me better low end?
2. If not, what would?
3. Do sparkplugs, and wires, make for better performance?
4. Is a hurst shifter good to instal?
5. And could I make my suspension smaller by cuttin it instead of buying and lowering kit?

Thanks people!

1. Would a shift-kit give me better low end?

In this case I am guessing you have a five speed manual? I take it that you are talking about a short throw shifter? If so then no, it doesn't add power. It makes quicker use of the power you have. It cuts down time between shifts which make a difference. It is a worthy upgrade.

2. If not, what would?

You want to raise your torque? That is a hard thing to do. The best and easiest way is with some serious modifications like forced induction. That is the best way to get more power from your car. Changing the entire exhaust and intake can help as well.

3. Do sparkplugs, and wires, make for better performance?

Yes, better spark is good for performance. Replacing your entire ignition system will yield some good results.

4. Is a Hurst shifter good to install?

Hurst is a good manufacture of shift kits.

5. And could I make my suspension smaller by cutting it instead of buying and lowering kit?

You could but you chance messing up your tires. Also it will adversely affect your car's handling. You will pay more in the long run doing it the cheap way. Do it right the first time. Don't cut or heat your springs. Get a lowering kit that will also adjust your camber and do it right.

dude.. you have a ODBII computer it gives you codes in the odometer read out, and if you torque convertor went bad.. that means you been hauling ass on that ATX.... i know cause i destroyed my ATX drag racing....(swapped a MTX in that biatch) if you're convertor is going bad you should be receiving and engine light cause our ATXs have torque convertor sensors.

First of all, have you checked your tranny fluid? Low tranny fluid will cause slipping. If it is low add a little bit and see if that helps. Make sure to watch the level on the dipstick and never overfill.

If the above solves nothing then you gotta put your foot down and demand that they find out what's wrong instead of the "I dunno" crap. When my torque converter went out I knew something was up with the transmission but the shop kept telling me crap like my intake was sucking in more air than the engine can handle (BS), my suspension was too low and was making the engine work hard (BS), I had wheel hop (BWHAHA on an ATX uh huh) and 50 other excuses NOT involving the tranny. I would gone balisitc if they woulda brought up the fact my blinker fluid level was low LOL.

If you are in your warranty get is fixed ASAP so you don't lose the whole tranny. It's a very expensive job if you have to shell our your own $$. When they fixed mine they did a rebuild while they were at it...I dont know if that's part of the process or if mine was broken that bad. If they still say I dunno, tell them to break open the tranny and check the torque converter.

howdy all, so they fixed my car under warranty thank god! here is what they did, well what they replaced

- convereter
- gasket and
- spring - tra
- spring - tra
- plate - tran
- plate - atx
- plate - tran
- atf=4 auto e
- sealer - rtv
- cleaner fl e

Cause: FC # 19 clutch defect
Correction: removed and dissassembled trans. ordered parts. dissassembled clutches, servos and valve bdy. dissassembled inspected and flushed diff. released rans and replaced rear clutch and torque converter. flushed cooler and lines. adjusted bands. reinstalled trans and road tested ok.E

so thats what they did....any who, I lowered the ass end of the neon because it looked bad, I used lowering clamps untill I can affors the springs, they seem to be alright, a little stiffer ride, but it looks so much better, also I put some silver screen in the front, took out the crysler emblem and stuck it there, I'll post some pics in a sec, thanks for you help people.
