The LS1 is a 346 and you can stroke it to a 382.

The biggest thing you would see is a huge increase in torque and the motor's ability to swallow a bigger cam.

Most of the horsepower is made from working on the top end. Namely the cylinder heads. This is not a place you want to skimp on.

I spent $7500 u.s. on my LT1 stroker. That included all the parts. 470hp and 503 lb ft of torque. I could have gone for over 500hp but I wanted to keep it streetable. You should be able to hit 500hp and still keep it streetable with teh LS1.

www.nu-tekmotorsports.com is one of the best companies to do this. Tell Nick Grip sent you.

You can check out their prices for complete drop ins.

You send them your stock block and they send you a stroked version.

Basically you can stroke it to 382 ci before getting super expensive. Anything larger than 382 ci requires the removal of the iron sleeves and insertion of new ones.
