99 regal gs strange window problem

99 regal gs, somebody tried to break into it between 330 am and 6 am sat morning, dont know what happened or how they did it but now the window wont roll up or down and the motor works great, i checked and checked and i have no idea how this setup is on here,all i know is there is some small cables that tightens and slacks up when the motor is engaged i haven't seen this kind os setup b4. the window stays about a 1/3 of the way down or lower and thats as far as it will go up by me moving it with my hands any help???? pllleeeeeaaaasssseeeeee

ok cancel that first part.........is there any wat to replace just the cable?????

It is a Bowden cable system and little more complex on how the cables work within the regulator assembly. So not really or worth the trouble. Easier just to replace the power window regulator and reuse the drive motor if it checks out good. You can get window regulator assemblies on Ebay for around $40 less drive motor. I just replaced one about two weeks ago in our Regal. Only about 4 10mm head bolts hold the regulator in the door and three on the drive motor to the regulator. And two hold the window to the top of the regulator.
