Cool my 1995 S6

just got this car and so far i love it. Planing on doing some minor mods, such as MTM stage 1, intake, suspension, and big brakes. Does anyone have advise about any of these things?

also an s6 owner (1996, 2.2t). i've owned it for three years, bought in germany, shipped to moscow, where i live. daily driver. i think it is almost the same as yours, could be wrong.

generally pleased with the car. nice looking, not too flashy, quick, handles beautifully, great transmission, amazing in the snow/ice (though i did go through one slight wreck while learning to drive it right). parts are a bit high $, and the ride is rough for this city. thinking of going for a newer modified a6 avant quattro. more space for the bikes and boards. no turbo to blow out.

few things i might mention that you might find helpful...

1.clutch may seemingly 'go out' one day. you'll think a cable is snapped, the pedal will go loose completely. you'll have to drive home with no clutch (real test of skills).

check the pedal assembly itself up under the dash. there is a piece of plastic that breaks. i think it is the same as the a8 piece, but can't remember. send me a personal messsage if it happens to you. happened twice to me.

2.the main radiator and a/c radiator sit very close together. in a dirty city or dusty town, crap collects between them that you won't see without looking with a flashlight. then it will run hot and the a/c won't work right. keep it clean by CAREFULLY powerwashing between them. or you can remove the whole assembly and clean it more thouroughly (but that's a couple of hours of work).

in moscow, suspension parts go quick and they are expensive.

had a wierd whining sound about a year ago coming from the back of the car. thought exhaust, rear end, got real confused. turned out to be the fuel pump filter, hose that sits in the gas tank, completely covered in shit (dirt, sand, other). the fuel system was getting a third of the needed pressure. cleaned it all, replace some bits and the car ran like new.

plugs go quick here (bad gas, see above). and be careful changing them, the 5 coils that sit atop the plugs can break easily when you lay them on the intake while changing.

take care, hope this is good info for you.
