1995 celica to 1995 civic?

Ok, this little punk down the street says that the new celica would kick my 95 civic's butt. I agreed. But could a 1995 celica beat a 1995 civic? both the top models of course. My civic is a Vtec-EX coupe. 130 hp. Not sure on the celica. But I sure would like to race this punk, even in his 2002 celica. So whatcha think?

Well if you were to race him in his 2002 celica all i can say is youre in for a spanking. We have a 2001 celica and that thing can move. But a 1995 celica?, I donno. I know they weren't that fast back then, but I say find one and race it :smoker:

Ive got a stock 92 celica GTS that hauls ok. Id say stock for stock hed take ya. You can build up a Civic much easier than a Celica though so depending on what you have done or plan to do the Civic could easily take him with a few bolt ons.

95's had the 2.0 liters, the 4cyl camary engines.. i think they were around 140HP.. i think a 95 would take you.. its got more torque... but there is only one way to find out..

What trim lvl is the old Celica? If it's GTS or GT4 you might be in trouble

well, he doesn't have a celica yet, but he will be getting one. Right now he has an old van. Not much fun to race.

My civic has little for performance mods right now as I am saving up for something a bit more important....

I only have an intake and some lighter rims. If I took all the crap outa my trunk the thing hauls good, but takes a while to get there. The intake really helps on the high-rpm pull, but actually hurts my already sucky torque. I beat a '97 Mustang GT on the quarter, but he whooped my arse on the 400. The thing just keeps pulling all the way till it aint got no more.

The 2002 Celica is nice, but I like the feel of the mid-age civic. The 5th gen mostly, although 4th gen are good too. Just the feel of being able to do whatever the hell you want to with the civic and it just says "ok".

So bets are against me on the Celica eh? I'd still like to race him, he's a sorry driver. My brother beat him by 11 seconds on a course we set up that only took 2 min. And my bro's a rookie

well, if I ever catch a 95 celica at a red light....

If he gets a GT4 you should fear (200+ hp, depends on settings) about the others I can't say that much.:bandit:
