Turbo? or Na

i live in boston mass. so the winters are alwys bad here. so i am thinking about na instead of a turbo or super charger. i love my car and i would like to know what i should look into in terms of horsepower but at the same time not killing my engine life. looking to spend around 2-3k. btw this is what i had planned for my 00 gsr.

00' Gsr (already installed)
Greddy Evo Catback
DC DAC air charger

(planning to get)
skunk 2 intake manifold
dc sports 4-2-1 header
skunk 2 stage 2 cams
skunk 2 cam gears

NEED OPINIONS PLEASE

I would have to agree with you on the GSR. If I were you I would just go with a All Motor Build. GSR's built up can be very quick. Just get the head done and see how much of a diffrence it makes.

The mods you listed that you want to get are a good start. With a good enough cam upgrade, you can boost hp by as much as 25-30 hp. Also look into upgrading your fuel system as well, get an adjustable pressure regulator, upgrade your fuel rail, maybe get some Type-R injectors if they are bigger than the GSR ones, and also maybe consider a larger bore throttle body to go along with the Skunk2 intake manifold. As time goes on and you can afford it, port and polish the head, and upgrade your valve springs and retainers, then get better pistons, and eventually better rods as well. If I recall, the GSR motor has great potention as an N/A powerhouse.

i agree 100% with the above post, but don't forget to upgrade the transmission with all those mods. a lightened flywheel and a more aggresive clutch will help you put all that power to the ground. also a type-r final drive gives you shorter gears for quicker acceleration also. maybe an lsd to go in between those axles eh? or maybe you can just spring for the type-r tranny w/ lsd. all depends on how much money you have. dont forget about the suspension and brakes!!!! and most of all have fun and fill us in!!!!!

Don't you know, it's 10 hp for every sticker, 50 hp extra for every additional inch of rear spoiler behond stock height.
