Bugatti EB 110. Heller vs Revell

Some time ago I started the Heller Bugatti EB 110. I lost interest quickly because the kit was awful. What about the Revell kit? It belongs to those times when Revell packed rubbish in boxes. Was it an exception to the rule or another Revell disaster?

The Heller is poorly done as you stated.

The Revell kit is pretty nice with a very good motor and chassis detail. It was good enough that I made a transkit for the Lemans 1994 car back in the late 1990's(long sold out).

I found the Revell kit to be better as well, but it's still a tough build. The biggest problem with the kit is that the body may be warped, but was still packaged anyway. When viewed from the front, the body goes one way and the roof goes another. I've had three of these kits and only one was barely good enough to use.

It seems to be a systematic problem in the way the part was was processed after it was molded. My parts, warped as they were showed no signs that this was due to it being crushed in or by the box. They just were warped badly.

The kit is still worth getting, but inspect the kit before you buy it.

FYI: I've had the same issue with the Revell mid-90's Trans AM Camaros.

You can un-warp a body, you can't do anything about the POS heller kit.

A few of my observations on the Revell/Monogram kit: There's LOADS of parts, lots of detail (how accurate???) the wheels don't fit very well without a bit of coaxing, it sits to hight (what a surprise) and the tires are to hard.

It builds nicely though.

I would go with the revell kit also, but like stated before the body may be warped or even the pillars broken. The body a-pillars are really thin and are the main colprate.
