3.8 engine diff than 3.8 supercharged engine

Are there any internal differences between normal 3.8 and 3.8 supercharged engines?

yes, there are many different internals on the sc 3800. the na 3800 also has a lower compression ratio.

Are you sure the NA 3800 (L36) doesn't have a higher compression ratio?

L36 9.4:1 versus L67 8.5:1. The L67 and L36 engine blocks are basically the same otherwise.

Tim, if you ever compare yourself to that asshat again (even jokingly), I will personally drive to your house and kick your tail!

Wafredrick was banned for being a useless DB on here. Spewed forth mountains of bad info and copped attitudes with people (Mods included) that contradicted his BS.

Re: 3.8 engine diff than 3.8 supercharged engine

The best part was his routine that my father, mother, grandfather, grandmother, brother, sister, inlaws did it that way.

Good spokesman for Dorman or the NRA though.

Really? I still owe you a drink Rich! Don't come now though, we got rain today, freezing rain tonight, turning into snow later.

But if you do come, you can help me change out the plugs in the 350. I finally figured out why it kept fouling out #3 and #5 plugs with this grey ash looking crap. A couple days ago it started to missfire on a dead miss cylinder number 3 on my way home from work. Got home, shut it off, the next morining it took about 5 seconds of cranking for it to start. Checked fuel pressure, 60psi key on, dropped to 0 almost immedialty after the pump quit prime. Yesterday I put a new fuel pressure regulator in it, and man has it never ran so good. Only think I can think of is that the regulator went and was dumping all 60psi of fuel into the port runners for cylinder number 3 and 5.

Everything is good now, but I should probably swap out the gummed up plugs. I have a set of copper core NGK's just waiting for the rain to stop!

Re: 3.8 engine diff than 3.8 supercharged engine

And my favorite wafrederick post was when he was bickering with me and I think Bob and Rich about torquing his LIM bolts down with an impact wrench. His arguement was that his dad does it that way and so do all the mechanic shops. Yeah Right.
